<p>New water soluble monoazo dyes are of formula (I) as the free acid. In (I) R1 is H, (ar)alkyl, aryl or cycloalkyl; R2 is H or (ar)alkyl; X is H, halogen, trifluoromethyl, cyano carbamoyl or alkoxy -carbonyl; Y is H or halogen; and Z is an opt. substd. arylene gp. (I) are greenish yellow dyes, which may be used equally as the free acid or as the acid salt, for polyamides, giving high wet and light fastness, and with superior tinctorial strength to that of closely related cpds.</p> |
