The culinary knife may be used to divide circular pies or cakes into three to five equal segments. A pantograph which cantilevers laterally from the blade is used to determine the angle of the segment. The lateral extension of the pantograph is adjustable with a cursor (11) travelling along a graduated handle-groove (05) to indicate the degree of extension. The extension may be varied through a screw-jack operated by a knurled wheel (90) incorporated on the handle. The pantograph comprises a scissor-action folding frame (12-15). The two inter-articulating root-arms (13, 15) are respectively pinned to a block (42) and a slide (41). The slide moves along a rail formed by edge of the blade (01) and is coupled to a transmission rod (97).
