<p>A current generator for welding applications avoids the use of brushes and enables ease of maintenance. When the rotor (11) is moving an A.C. current is induced in the winding (12) with the energising winding supplied with A. C. A built-in Triac rectifier (8) generates a current for the energising coil (19) of the rotor: the magnetic field set up in the coil, pole discs (4, 5) and gap induces a voltage in the output winding (7) to generate the required welding current.</p> |
