1533222 Sliding door A W RULE 31 Dec 1975 [4 Oct 1974] 43249/74 Heading E1J A sliding door comprises a wing frame 11 within which is mounted a sub-frame 12 bearing a panel 10; the frame 11 slides on lower 4 and upper 3 guide rails e.g. on wheels 14 and guide rollers 13; the sub frame 12 is carried on rollers 15 and is movable in a direction at right angles to the panel by hydraulic rams 16 bringing the seals 120 into firm contact with the wall-opening surround, thrust rollers 17 are provided. The pump unit 6 provides hydraulic fluid under pressure and limit switches control the pump so that the rams can only operate when the door is in the closed position. The door may provide a gas- or liquid-tight closure or with a suitable panel sound insulation. The hydraulic rams may be replaced by screws or cams. |
