<p>1533433 Sawing apparatus ALCAN RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT Ltd 9 Feb 1977 [26 Feb 1976] 7729/76 Heading B5L A sawing apparatus for sawing batches of extruded lengths of metal into pieces of predetermined length L comprises a saw table 12 formed in two parts 16 and 19 independently pivotable such that on tilting of part 19 or part 16 the leading or trailing cut-off ends of the extruded material are deposited in a bin 21. The apparatus may comprise three sensors 15, 27 and 22, the first sensor 15 being triggered to cause the leading ends of parallel lengths of extruded material to be cut by the saw 13 and deposited in the bin 21 by tilting of the table part 19. The second sensor 27 is triggered to cause the trailing ends of the material to be cut by the saw 13. The third sensor 22 causes the ends of the predetermined lengths of material to stop at an abutment 26 disposed the predetermined distance from the saw and then causes operation of the saw 13 to cut the material.</p> |
