PURPOSE:To improve the overall efficiency of an apparatus by providing a thyristor between a control rectifier and a storage battery at the polarity for discharging the storage battery and by connecting a circuit, in which a diode and a DC reactor are connected in series at the polarity for charging the storage battery, in parallel with the thyristor. CONSTITUTION:A DC reactor 11 suppresses a ripple current to a storage battery 5 by a control rectifier 2 and the current capacity thereof is generally selected to be 10-20% of the output capacitance of an inverter 3. A diode 12 operates only when a circuit via the DC reactor 11 is charged with electricity. When an AC power supply 1 is cut OFF or lowered and the charging voltage of the storage battery 5 cannot by maintained by the control rectifier 2, an AC power- lowering circuit not shown in the drawing detects such state and gives a firing command to a thyristor 13 immediately so that the power of the storage battery 5 is supplied to the inverter 3 via the thyristor 13 and a load can be supplied with power uninterruptively. |
