<p>The instrument is for reading microfiches, and contains a transparent support plate for the microfiche. The microfiche is mounted on a table located between a light source and an objective lens. It can be moved along two coordinates in a plane which is at right angles to the optical axis of the objective lens. There is a socket on the left handside of the table which supports the cassette of the microfiche and a selection mechanism on the right hand side. The table is fitted with guide mechanisms for shifting the cassette and the selection mechanism separately. Two transparent plates form the centre section of the table.</p> |
