<p>In a wind heater the bottom part of the checker work consists of a row of parallel steel plates. The plates(a) are pref. joined together via webs, esp. webs fixed by only one end to a steel plate. The deflection of the cold blast upwards towards the steel plates(a) is pref. achieved by metal baffle plates. The tips(a1) of plates(a) are pref. made of heat resisting steel, and are used to carry two grids on which the ceramic checker work bricks rest. Transverse ribs of heat resisting steel are pref. used between the tips(a1). The vol. of the checker work can be reduced and therefore the overall height of the blast heater can be decreased by using steel plates(a) adjacent to the bottom inlet for the cold blast.</p> |
