<p>A typical application of a cable recoiling drum is in certain types a vacuum cleaner. The whole drum assembly is simplified by making the contact carrying insert in the form of a cylindrical capsule which can be pushed axially into the cable drum. At the same time the capsule also fits axially onto an extension in the centre of the stationary part of the recoiling assembly. Here it makes connection with the stationary half of a sliding contact arrangement, and also forms part of the bearing support for the cable drum.</p> |
