<p>In the copier, selected rows of a row original (4) are copied together with a head original (2). The row original (4) can be displaced with respect to the head original (2) and is arranged above the latter and a cover (3). Located between the head original (2) and cover (3) is a slot through which the rows of the row original (4) that are to be copied are exposed. The cover (3) can likewise be displaced in order to change the slot width. Rigidly connected to the retaining devices (6; 7) for the row original (4) and the cover (3) are strips (15; 23) which bear markings and are scanned by stationary scanning devices (16; 24). If a predetermined marking is scanned during displacement of a retaining device, the electric motor (11; 12) effecting the displacement is shut down and at the same time a braking device (20, 21; 25, 26) for this motor is tripped. <IMAGE></p> |
