The automatic cattle feeding arrangement has a circular feed trough (1) mounted on a supply tube (2) supported on a weighing arm (19). The trough is supported by a hoist (40) so that it can be lowered to the feeding level. All the components are supported so that their weights cancel out for directly reading the weight of the feedstuff. The support bracket (29) between the hoist and the weighing arm includes a horizontal spindle (23) acting as a tilting spindle. This is also held in tension by a wire (48) attached at one end to a clip (52) around the feed pipe, and at the other end to the bracket.
