Building partition is formed from a layer of compressed wood fibre pref. impregnated with an inorganic cement. The wood fibre layer is reinforced with one or more layers of fibres laying parallel with the surface of the partition. The fibres are resistant to alkalis. The partition is strong and unlikely to crack. Typically the reinforcing fibres are pref. in the form of a woven or non-woven fabric of nylon or polyester. The facing layer may be a felt or a cement.
