<p>The bottle crate has an interior height at least equal to that of the bottles accommodated, and a strengthening portion running round the top edge. This portion consists of a thickened section (3, 4) of the wall of the crate, and extending directly upwards. On the inside of the thickened section are one or more lengthwise grooves (5, 6), running for at least part of its length. Suitable lifting grabs (9) engage in the grooves. The design provides a simple way of lifting large numbers, even a complete layer, of crates off a stack without risk of damage to the bottles.</p> |
