The system has a circuit for controlling the temperature positive or positive and negative with respect to ambient temperatures, of an object. The object being housed inside an insulated enclosure sealed by a lid. The system being designed for feeding bottles and biological cultures contained in Petri boxes etc. The system has a single refrigerating unit, sealed or semi sealed, inserted in a refrigerating circuit having at least two exchangers one of which is inside a container, and an expansion element. When the system is used as a heater-refrigerator it includes a number of enclosures with identical but automonous secondary circuits in parallel. These secondary circuits are connected to a central system each being suitable for cycle inversion with rapid complementary heating. The secondary circuits can be disconnected from the rest of the circuit. The system has means of controlling the average temperature at the centre of the group of stored materials.
