The railway track (1) for vehicles with pneumatic tyres (16) or flanged wheels (21), supports side guides (2) besides the rolling surfaces, and has continuously supported tracks. Sleepers or traverses(3) are non-structural, serving to locate track lengths besides carrying posts (4) supporting the side guides (2). The rolling surfaces are formed by inverted channels (1) which fit onto longitudinal beams (11). These beams are embedded in a continuous concrete base slab (8) as are the traverses (3). Each beam may extend between two traverses (3) and a half-joint detail may be used to accommodate the two beam ends (10) on each traverse. An elastic layer (13) may be between the channel and the beam(11). The track section (1) may be fixed to the beam (11). The ends of the traverses (3) may be built onto trays (5) embedded on an elastic layer (6). Vertical plates (9) projecting from the traverses can locate the beam ends (10).
|
