PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device and a printing method which can easily and safely perform preparation work for adhering a recording medium to a conveyance belt while extending the medium evenly, prior to starting of printing when performing the printing on the recording medium.SOLUTION: A printing device 1 comprises: an endless belt 53 that conveys a work-piece W in an adhesion state where the work-piece is adhered thereto; a tensioner 54 serving as a pressing roller which is supported to be movable between a first position approaching the endless belt 53 and a second position separating more from the endless belt 53 than the first position and presses the work-piece W at the first position to bring the work-piece into the adhesion state when printing is performed on the work-piece W; and an auxiliary unit 6 that functions as a fixing part which brings the work-piece W wound around the tensioner 54 into a temporarily fixed state in which the work-piece is temporarily fixed to the tensioner 54 prior to starting printing when the tensioner 54 is at the second position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
