The device has a transparent block (12) with an admission face, and an electroluminescent diode e.g. LED situated opposite to the admission face. A light diffusion zone in the block (12) diffuses the light rays from diode towards a projecting front face through which the light rays emerge along a longitudinal lighting direction. The zone is a core made of diffusing material and is plunged in the transparent block. The light ray emitted by the diode is penetrated in the transparent block through the admission face. The light rays propagate in the transparent block by successive reflection on walls of the transparent block. |
