Heater for beer wort consists of heating elements each of which is made of 2 plates soldered together at their edges. These plates are so shaped that they form a set of parallel, longitudinal troughs, which discharge, at both ends, into cross-troughs running across their longitudinal axes. The cross-troughs are formed in opposite edge regions of the plates. The troughs of both plates form a set of channels which discharge into receivers running the length of opposite edges of the heating elements. Plates can be made by high-energy deformation which means that relatively thin metal sheets can be used the elements are very flat, and can be placed very close together giving a high heating surface.
|
