The automatic flow regulator for fluid and gas control consists of a rubber or plastics membrane (6) with several slotted or circular openings and is held at its edges in a metal or plastics housing (5). The membrane is deformed to a greater or lesser extent according to the pressure of the medium. The flow rate, limited by the number and size of the openings, remains constant within a certain pressure range. To reduce flow noise, a projection (10) on the end of the membrane on the outlet side of the channels deflects the fluid or gas stream towards the deflector (11) on the outlet of the regulator (11). The regulator can rapidly and easily be employed in household fittings to effect economies and to reduce flow noise.
