Inductor for starting fluorescent lamp - has main and auxiliary inductor laminated cores joined together in single unit

The inductor has a main and an additional inductor. A capacitor in a tapping of the main inductor in series with the fluorescent lamp, is in parallel with the lamp. The additional inductor is inserted into the above tapping in series with the capacitor. Lamination packs (14, 18) for the main (10) and additional (12) inductors are E-shaped and joined together in a single unit. Surfaces of the packs perpendicular to the laminations and to the central axes of the windings face each other.
