The sheet metal panel, usually of aluminium, for interior and exterior cladding of buildings, has vertical longitudinal edges shaped as tongues and grooves. It is designed to provide a more appealing finish when applied as cladding over a large surface area. Plastically formed structured patterns (13) are impressed into the front side. The hollow space formed by the raised longitudinal edges on the rear side is filled with foamed heat-insulating plastics. In continuous production, a length of sheet metal runs in a single process through one or more pairs of rollers to impress the pattern, and through a coating position where the foamed plastic is applied. The overall optical effect is enhanced, and installation is simplified.
|
