The solution to be concentrated enters a housing via a pipe and leaves via another pipe with the aid of an impeller. The cooling medium enters tubular or plate heat exchangers via a pipe (5) and leaves via another pipe. Movement of the exchanger walls is effected by pulsating the cooling medium with a piston driven by an eccentric. The exchanger walls can be periodically warmed. Used for crystallisation. Solutions of widely differing concentrations can be handled with uniform effect. Cavitation, and crystallisation on the heat exchanger walls are prevented.
