<p>Isothiazolo 3,4-f pentathiepine derivs. of formula (I) are new. In the formula, X is CN, COCl, COOR1, COSR', or CONR2R3; R1 is H, Me or Et; R2 is H or Me; R3 is H, 1-4C alkyl or phenyl, but cannot be 4C alkyl when R2 = H; R', is Me or Et. Cpds. (I) are useful as agricultural and industrial fungicides. They are active, e.g., against Venturia inaequalis, Erysiphe spp., Phytophthora injestans and Cercospora beticola. Industrial uses include textile treatment and wood preservation. In an example, (I; X = CN) was prepd. from the Na2 salt of 1,2-dimercapto-maleonitrile, sulphur and tetracyano-1,4-dithiine.</p> |
