The ink supply is esp. for an electronic printer and has an ink contg. flexible bag (4) arranged in a container (1). The bag is squeezed by a pressure plate (6) to expel the ink to a feed pipe (9). The container has a vent (11) to atmosphere to allow air to replace the shrinking volume of the bag. The opening leads through a chamber (13) contg. a granular material (15) having the property of softening and expanding when moistening. If the bag becomes damaged the ink moistens the granular material whose expansion then closes the vent to prevent spillage of ink.
