Cleaning rake arrangement for a drain channel grid - is of low, stable construction and suitable for grids with straight bars

Arrangement comprises a rake which can be moved from an intermediate or resting position above water level, into engagement with the grid. From there it can be lifted into a horizontal emptying position above a container or transporting arrangement. The comb of the rake can be pivotted on a horizontal axis and is secured to a rake arm which similar pivots on a horizontal axis. The arm is energised by a driving mechanism attached to the underwater side of the rake and is moved in a vertical plane. The drive is effected by a chain running over guide wheels in bearings at fixed points, and guided round a stationary curved track. The rake arm is formed by two levers and is attached to the chains by a shaft on which it pivots and is moved along the guide track with the chains. On the opposite side to the rake comb of the pivoting connection to the chains, the rake arm levers are attached by a horizontal shaft to two pendulum levers which themselves also pivot on a horizontal shaft. Whilst maintaining the low stable construction, the working of the installation is improved and is esp. applicable to grids with straight bars.
