In restaurants meals are often cooked in advance and then frozen so that they can be re-heated when required. The initial freezing and subsequent maintaining at a low temperature are at present usually done separately so that the food has to be refrigerator to the cold store. The invention proposes a combined refrigerator and cold store (1) with a door (2) which is divided into several compartments (3). Each compartment has a refrigeration unit (4) which comprises an evaporator and circulating fan. Food can thus be placed in or removed from any one compartment without affecting the temperature in any other compartment.
