The camera (101) comprises two opposed walls forming a housing (116) for receiving a flat cassette (41) containing a disc-shaped film mounted on a core. The camera includes a channel comprising a bearing surface (135) encircling the optical axis, and a presser (138) exerting an elastic pressure on the bearing surface; the film is thus forced to remain in the sharp-focusing plane. An actuator (141) enables the elastic pressure on the film to be momentarily removed during the operation of a mechanism (115, 131, 132, 133, 187) for the step-wise advancing of the film. A safety (security) device temporarily prevents access to the housing (116). A reflective surface for bending the optical axis is associated with the objective. <IMAGE>
