<p>A compsn. breakable under impact comprises a mixt. of (a) a first mixt. comprising a low melting resin (m.pt. 110-120 degrees C), pref. cournanone indene resin; a filler which reduces bubble formation, pref. octyl phthalate, tricresyl phosphate or Mg carbonate; a white pigment, pref. nutile TiO2 and tracks of lubricants, pref. Ca stearate; and (b) other materials, comprising 10% fillers, pref. talc, 25% anti-acids, pref. Mg carbonate, 5% lubricants, pref. Ca stearate, 10% plasticiser-binder, pref. kaolin and 10% crosslinking white pigments pref. nutile TiO2, the % being based on total compsn. The compsn. is used for moulding and contains bridged cells with round structures. When the compsn. breaks under impact no fragments are formed with sharp cutting edges likely to cause injury. The compsn. is used for moulding shooting targets (clay pigeon), jugs, bottles etc.</p> |
