Seed distributor for sowing machine - with each seed dropped into recess in vee groove on wheel and retained by guard rail for ejection by spring blade

The seed distributor is powered by a wheel of the sowing machine and comprises a large wheel (2) with annular vee grooves. These have recesses (26) spaced around their base, each recess holding one seed fed from a hopper (6). A smaller wheel (8), of hard rubber, has mating vee profiles running without clearance inside the grooves. Both wheels are driven by the same belt (18) and the seeds retained in place by a profiled guard (34). At the discharge point (38), at the lowest point of the wheel, a spring blade (40) is positioned. This runs in a shallow annular groove (36) connecting the seed recesses and ejects these.
