Rubber tubing with spiral reinforcement is produced continuously on a revolving mandrel which has zones with spiral grooves running in the direction opposite to its rotation, the grooved lengths alternate with slightly narrower ungrooved areas, there are holes for lubricant in the narrower parts, and the grooved areas are pressurised externally with rollers and/or ball races which run counter to the mandrel direction. Low cost high speed process provides continuous vulcanisation.
