<p>Vinyl substituted imidazolines and tetrahydropyrimidines, from which polymers may be prepared that are useful in processes for dewatering suspensions such as fermentation wastes and sewage sludges, of formula: wherein HX is an acid, m is 0 or 1, R1 is hydrogen, methyl or phenyl, R2 and R3 are individually hydrogen, alkyl (C1-C4), aryl (C6-C10), alkylaryl (C7-C11) or arylalkyl (C7-C11), and n is 0 or 1. Process for the preparation of these compounds and processes for conversion of those compounds into polymers and copolymers are also described.</p> |
