High frequency heated surgical tweezers - have prongs separated by insulation layer and secured by insulation material grub screws

The surgical tweezers have two arms (3a, 3b) separated by a layer of insulations (5) and connected to a high frequency source. Two grub screws (8) made of a high strength plastics material are also used to form the insulating connection between the two arms. The length of the grub screws is made so that they are flush with the outside surfaces of the arms, these arms being tapped suitably for the screws. The arms are thicker at the connection end than at the operating ends (3). Clearance holes through the insulating material in line with the screws are filled with a heat resistant adhesive. The contact surfaces are roughened.
