<p>A lever esp. gives direct control for the needles, and the needles are arranged so that they are sunk in the needle cylinder or dial plate with chamfered faces to hold the needles in the active setting. Each needle is lifted into the active position for knitting, catching and suspending the knitted stitches, by another lever and a magnet with a control unit, which runs on the cylinder and the dial plate. A lock acts with the chamfered surface at the needle butt to hold the needle in the active setting. The second lever is provided with a number of butts lying behind each other and the same number of magnets according to the control time of the magnet and the control unit and the relative speed of the needle and the cylinder or the dial plate.</p> |
