1525797 Pipe joints K WEINHOLD 15 July 1976 [23 July 1975] 29415/76 Heading F2G A connection between two pipe ends 10,11 is effected by means of a sleeve 14 into one end of which a plug part 10a on the pipe end 10 fits with the interposition of a seal 12 located in a groove 10b, the other end of the sleeve 14 having an interior surface for sealing engagement with a seal 13 located in a groove 11b in a collar 11a formed on the pipe end 11, the collar 11a having a part-spherical outer surface allowing misalignment between the pipe ends 10, 11, this being limited by a flange 14b on the sleeve 14, the assembly being held together by shell parts 15, 16 closed by means of a tensioning lever lock (not shown), the shell parts having flanges 15a, 16a engaging with collars 10c and 14a on the pipe end 10 and sleeve 14. The groove 11b preferably widens in a radially outward direction. |
