The method involves providing a case filling part of an opening in a box (2), and injecting a flow of gas laden flakes made of insulating material through an injection port to fill an internal space (6) of the box and an interior of a housing. A packing element is used for packing an insulating material in the box. A packing head of an end wall is actuated to compress the insulation material in the internal space of the box. A cover of the box is removed. The cover is secured on side walls of the box to close the opening of the box. An independent claim is also included for a device for filling a box with a fibrous insulating material.
