1525095 Hoses H G SCHAUENBURG 2 May 1977 [3 May 1976] 18211/77 Heading F2P A flame-resistant hose comprises a polyurethane core 3 and inner 1 and outer 2 sheaths of helically wound woven glass-fibre tape 5, the mesh and fibrous nature of which prevents air permeating to the core 3 in the event of, e.g. a fire the tape 5 being sealed to the core 3 and adjacent edges being sealed to each other, e.g. in overlap. A helical wire reinforcement 4 is embedded between the sheaths 1, 2. The core 3 may contain a mineral filler, e.g. sodium silicate, in specified proportions by weight. The tape 5 may have a polyurethane coating on the side facing the core 3 and after winding be sealed by use of a solvent. |
