A device is disclosed for mounting thin cylindrical objects, such as a rotary screen, on mounting ends, for subsequent stretched mounting of the rotary screen with the mounting ends in a machine. The invention is characterized in that the thin cylindrical rotary screen on the inside thereof adjacent each edge is formed with a flange and that the mounting ends are formed to be releasable from the rotary screen and have an expansible stretching means having a flange groove corresponding to the said flange. The expansible stretching means may be an expansible steel band which is movably mounted in a slot in the mounting end and may be expanded by the action of an air tube mounted in the slot and adapted to be put under pressure. Alternatively, the expansible stretching means may be an expansible wedge ring which is movably mounted in a slot of the mounting end and may be caused to change its radial dimension by the action of an axially movable inner wedge ring which is mounted in the slot. |
