1513003 Recording apparatus SIEMENS AG 18 July 1975 [19 July 1974] 30313/75 Heading G I J In a recorder in which a record medium, such as a strip 11, and marking means, such as a pen 10, are relatively movable in two mutually perpendicular directions, the extent of transverse movement of the marking means 10 across the strip 11 being representative of the magnitude of a control signal fed to the input 8 of control means, the input 8 is connected to the output of a time multi-plexer 14 having an input 15 for receiving a measurement signal and an input 16 for receiving a reference signal, the multi-plexer switching sequentially between its inputs 15, 16 such that the measurement and reference signals are recorded sequentially. As shown the control signal is provided by the output of a digital multi-plexer 14 and digital-toanalogue converter 13, the measurement input 15 stemming from an analogue-to-digital converter 17 and another multi-plexer 18 which switches sequentially between inputs A and B. The reference signal 16 and the switching of the multi-plexers 14, 18 is achieved by a squarewave generator 26 and train of frequency-dividers 21-25. The input 8 is thus provided in sequence, as shown in Fig. 9, by (i) four different reference signals (ii) measurement signal A (iii) a repeat of the four different reference signals, and (iv) measurement signal B. A generator 29 may be used to impose a high frequency signal on signal B in order that the records of signals A and B can be distinguished. In an alternative arrangement Fig. 10 (not shown) an array of multi-plexers (33-35) is used to provide the reference signal by appropriate sequential switching between four analogue reference inputs (A-D). |
