The self aligning bearing has an outer race (3) with an outer wall (5) which is part spherical. The bearing is mounted in support (6) formed of two parts (7, 8) which are pierced near their periphery by holes (9) to receive bolts (10). ]An annulus formed between the inner side faces of parts (7, 8) receives and retains a sleeve (15) of elastomeric material. Sleeve (15) has a part spherical bore in which the outer race (3) is received and can move to compensate for any small misalignment of a shaft carried by the inner race (2).
