The ceramic capacitor consists of an extruded ceramic cylinder with two holes passing axially parallel through it. The holes are formed by dividing a larger round hole into two with a central partition (2). The insides of the two holes are metallised to form two first plates of the capacitor whilst the metal coating on the outside of the cylinder forms the shared second plate. A third capacitance is formed by the metal coatings on each side of the partition. Connection wires (10, 11) are pushed into the holes from opposite ends.
