Moulded elastomeric strips are cut transversely at selected angles and at accurate locations to provide clean cut surfaces, by supercooling the portions to be cut in liq. nitrogen. Pref. the material is moulded rubber strip provided with hollow interior which makes the cutting by usual methods partic. difficult. Cooling is limited strictly to the cutting portion.
