The test system, for checking data list comparators, has controllable inverters (I1-Ik) connected to the input sides of the comparators (V1-Vk). The circuit (S) that controls the inverters switches them in and out in response to a central clock signal (T) during the comparison phase. When an inverter is switched out its comparator receives identical bits at its two inputs. With an inverter switched in the bits are not identical. The outputs of the comparators are coupled to an evaluator (A).
