The corner regions (6, 7) on both sides of the front bumper (4) are in each case made, together with part of the corner regions of the apron (5) in each case, out of a single piece (8, 9) of integral foam. Each of these shell-like corner parts (8 and 9 respectively) is fastened along its edges to the vehicle chassis in such a way that a cavity is formed behind it. This arrangement makes the manufacture and assembly of the front of the vehicle cheaper and results in a repair-friendly design. <IMAGE>
