The mechanical calendar unit provides a completely automatic cycle over the complete year. The display is provided by a number of drums, with letters and numbers printed on the periphery. All drums are supported on a central shaft. The day of the month is contained on two drums; one containing digits from 0 to 5 and the other digit from 0 to 3. An outer drum has a month display on the outer surface within the Internal surface of the drum are 12 teeth. A pawl engages one of the teeth to index the drum at the end of each month. A similar facility is provided for the week display.
