<p>Sediments are removed from fluids, e.g. beer during fermentation in a vat by passing the fluid in the lower part of the vat through a narrowed cross-section so that is accelerated in the vertical direction. This speeds up the accumulation of the heavier sediments below the narrower part so that they can be extracted as required. Process enables the brewer to remove sediments and excess yeast by a method which can be carried out in the same vat, thus simplifying the process.</p> |
