The rudder (6) is suspended from a yoke (8) by means of a horizontal pin (25). The yoke has two gudgeons (12) to fit onto pintels on the vessel. The top of the rudder has a hole (10) to take an upper pin (23), fitting in a curved slot (16) in the yoke, so that the rudder may rock in a vertically plane about its pivot (25). The tiller (9) has a coarse pitch screw (18) so that it can move longitudinally in the sleeve (13) across the top of the yoke and is connected to the bracket (19) which fits onto the upper swivel pin (23). Rotation of the tiller arm varies the rudder vertical angle.
|
