The bearing element (1), which is intended for receiving a spring slat (not illustrated), has a cylindrical projection (3) at its lower end. The cylindrical projection (3) can be inserted laterally in a corresponding cylindrical recess (6) in a support bearing (7). The support bearing (7) is inserted in a bed frame side part (R) by means of attachment pins (11). This embodiment of the bearing element (1) and of the support bearing (7) allows, in association with simple manufacture and assembly, an excellent possibility of turning the spring slat mounted in the bearing element (1) about its longitudinal axis. <IMAGE>
