The noise-absorbing and insulating connection of metal or other plates, laid on insulating materials or underlaid with these, is used esp. in connection with the laying of floating or oscillating steel floors. Fish plates are provided at the points of abutment beneath the tread plates. These are given a top covering with a composite substance which attenuates noise conducted through solids. This substance can consist of an visco-elastic adhesive mass. The adhesive can be a dual-component polyurethane adhesive. The fishplates may be considerably wider that the points of abutment to be spanned, and they can be cemented to the floor plates by the adhesive mass, and also pref. by screws or rivets. The distribution and radiation of sound energy is reduced, and steel floor plates are effectively sealed together, in spite of expansion resulting from temp. variations.
|
