X-ray photographic camera - produces black edges on negative using system of masks and lights

X-ry apparatus has an associated film camera for recording the X-ray picture. There is a facility for recording details from a patient's record card on the X-ray film and also a facility for producing the X-ray picture with a black border for easier viewing. A X-ray picture is produced at the X-ray camera (4) output (5) which can be viewed on a fluorescent screen (11) and photographed by a camera (9) on film (10) (at 15). Masks (16, 17) around the four sides of the picture area can be suffused with light and kept light so that the edges of the photograph (15) are exposed, providing black edged negatives, and when the negative is viewed no extraneous light round the edges of the negative dazzle and detract from the observer's point of view.
