<p>The soil sterilising unit which is tractor drawn, comprises a rotary perforated drum to which steam is supplied from a top mounted header tank. Connected to the perforated drum periphery are a number of tines ensuring loosening of the soil, prior to being subjected to steam injection. The entire unit is linkage mounted behind the tractor and may be adjusted to give depth-controlled steam injection over any desired area. The steam injection unit may be connected to the header tank and is formed in sledge like fashion to give steam injection at the point where the soil is loosened (crumbling).</p> |
